The Colour Star

The spectrum of colours are:
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet

The primary of colours are: Red, blue and yellow

The secondary are colours are: Green, orange and violet

 

Rules of the Colour Star:
The colour star can be divided into warm and cool colours. 

Colours that are opposite each other on the colour star will neutralise each other. These are known as opposite colours.

The principle of opposite colours is used in hairdressing when dealing with colour correction – e.g. if the hair is too yellow, violet is used to reduce the yellow tone. Red is used to neutralise a green tone.
