Every March, our Reflections Training Academy Competition brings together the very best of our learners’ creativity, skill, and passion for hairdressing and barbering, and this year has been no exception.
We’ve been genuinely blown away by the standard of work submitted. From innovative colour work and precision cutting to polished styling and creative finishes, the level of talent on display has been incredible. It’s clear that our learners are not only developing strong technical abilities, but also the confidence to push boundaries and express their individuality.
This competition is always a highlight of the year for us. It’s a chance to celebrate the hard work happening every day in our academies and salons, and to recognise the dedication our learners put into honing their craft. The effort, attention to detail, and pride shown in each entry has made judging no easy task.
A huge well done to everyone who took part, your work truly reflects the high standards and creativity we’re so proud to champion at Reflections Training Academy.

Liv Simpson Heath Testimonial:
Winning the Reflections Competition feels amazing and very rewarding. It made me feel proud of the effort and creativity I put into my work. It motivates me to keep improving and pushing myself further for the future.
My design was inspired by wanting to create something unique and bold, while still being wearable. I’ve been obsessed with vintage looking hair ups, and have always loved the 1920s Great Gatsby era, so I wanted to create a look that reflected that, while still showing strong technique and creativity.
One of the techniques I was most proud of was how I styled and structured the hair to create a big and effective finish. I focused a lot on detail, such as using a variety of bigger and smaller plaites, making sure her extensions were hidden by precisely styling the hair correctly and strategically placing the pearl accessories.
Overall, the experience was really enjoyable and a great learning opportunity. I’m proud how I brought my overall idea together,
from concept to the final result.
It challenged me to think creatively and manage my time and skills under pressure. I’m really grateful for the opportunity to take part, and winning has encouraged me to keep developing my abilities and aim for even more in the future.
