Course Overview:
This course gives you everything you the skills and techniques you need for a successful start in the Hairdressing industry.
Hairdressers will be able to shampoo and condition hair, cut hair using a range of techniques, style and finish hair to create variety of looks, and colour and lighten hair for ladies and men.
The course includes:
- Consultation for client services.
- Shampooing and conditioning treatments for the hair and scalp.
- Styling and finishing techniques including hair-up.
- Cutting hair using a range of techniques for classic and fashion finishes.
- Colour and lighten hair using a range of techniques.
- Perming hair.
- Maths and English developments.

An End Point Assessment forms the completion of your Apprenticeship.
End Point Assessment methods
Multiple-choice test
You will complete a multiple-choice test. It will be closed book, meaning you will not have access to any books or reference materials.
The test will have 40 multiple-choice questions. You will have 60 minutes to complete it.
Practical assessment with questions
You will be observed by an independent assessor completing a set of tasks. It will last 5.5 hours. They will ask you at least 3 questions.
Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
You will have a professional discussion with an independent assessor. It will last 35 minutes. They will ask you at least 6 questions. The questions will be about certain aspects of your occupation. You need to compile a portfolio of evidence before the EPA gateway. You can use it to help answer the questions.
