What will I learn?

You will receive on and off-the-job training while you work towards your qualification.

Your apprenticeship framework will include a range of ERR, functional skills and excellent hairdressing enrichment activities such as our creative hair workshops, competition work and diplomas.

Units include shampooing, conditioning, client care, consultation skills, styling, cutting, colouring and Health & safety.

How long does the course take?

The average time for an intermediate apprentice to complete their qualification is 18 months, however this is based on each learners ability individually.

How often do I need to attend training?

Training is one day every fortnight at the Training Academy and tutor/assessors will be visiting you in the salon to gain assessments. Additional training needs will be discussed at induction.

How much do I get paid?

Once employed at a salon/barber’s you will be paid the current apprenticeship wage by your employer. There is however scope to increase this with tips.

How old do I need to be?

You can be any age over 16 years old as long as you have a salon placement, then you are able to start your apprenticeship  with Reflections Training Academy.

Do I always come to training on the same day?

Once your training day is agreed then we endeavour to keep you in that group unless otherwise discussed by your tutor/employer. Training will always be on a day between  Monday – Thursday.

Are there any additional costs?

You are required to purchase a Hairdressing or Barbering kit. These can be purchased through the Training Academy at a competitive price. Please liaise with your Tutor for details during induction.
